A Life Quoted.. with HUNTER S THOMPSON

A new regular feature to DUST NIGHTS - "A life Quoted." Where we take 5 or so quotes from an iconic figure in history that we at DUST would like to salute. First off the rank is the Literal genius - Hunter S Thompson.

Mostly known for his "gonzo" styled journalism and author of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Thompson didn't mind going on a bender or two and certainly wasn't afraid to talk about it. He was also in our opinion o
ne of the most brilliant writers of the 20th century.

You could easily look at him as a drug addicted lunatic, but we delve deeper and are inspired by a genius that looked beyond the square and lived life on his terms. And for that Mr THOMPSON, we salute you!

A life Quoted with HUNTER S THOMPSON

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."

"I have a theory that the truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours."

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

The Edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

"Some may never live, but the crazy never die."
